VERDI SPECTACULAR

Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901)

The huge success of State Opera SA’s 2016 Puccini Spectacular deserves a sequel, and what better solution than the wonderful music of Puccini’s predecessor, the incomparable Italian master of the musical drama, Giuseppe Verdi. The composer of La Traviata, Rigoletto, Otello, Falstaff, Il Trovatore, Luisa Miller, Macbeth, The Force of Destiny and Nabucco has given the world some of its greatest moments in opera. Now is the chance to hear Verdi’s best arias, ensembles and choruses in the unrivalled acoustic of the Adelaide Town Hall. In 2017, the acclaimed State Opera Chorus joins the Spectacular line-up, adding an extra layer to the already thrill-filled program! With six sensational singers and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra on stage, this is an event you can’t afford to miss, with more than 100 of South Australia’s greatest instrumentalists and singers letting you hear this music in all its glory. Two performances only.
